Pradhan kicks off the ‘Awakening’ campaign of the Ramakrishna Mission as part of NEP 2020.

According to Pradhan, the programme is a step toward guaranteeing the all-around development of a child’s personality in accordance with the principles espoused by NEP 2020.
Dharmendra Pradhan, minister of education for the Union of India, kicked off the ‘Awakening’ programme for pupils in classes 1 through 5 at the Ramakrishna Mission in New Delhi on Thursday, according to a statement issued by the ministry.

This ‘Awakening’ programme is an effort towards assuring the whole personality development of a kid in keeping with the idea of National Education Policy (NEP), 2020. It was created as part of the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020.

During his remarks at the event, Pradhan stated that the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) is profoundly influenced by the ideas of Swami Vivekananda. He went on to say that the great thinkers of India, such as Sri Aurobindo, Mahatma Gandhi, and Swami Vivekananda, envisioned an educational system for India that was both forward-thinking and firmly based in civilizational values.

According to the government, Pradhan was quoted as saying that one of the primary aims of education is to effect social change. The acquisition of values and knowledge is preferable than the accumulation of material prosperity. In addition, he emphasised the significance of education centred on values in the development of a generation that is prepared for the future and aware of its societal responsibilities.

In addition to the value-based educational programmes already in place for classes 1-8, throughout the implementation of NEP 2020 there should be a focus placed on developing such programmes for classes 9 through 12.

According to Pradhan, the programme is a step toward guaranteeing the all-around development of a child’s personality in accordance with the principles espoused by NEP 2020.

The minister urged the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to establish an advisory framework to encourage value-based education in all schools, from Balvatika to Class XII, with the goal of producing a talent pool that is prepared to face the challenges of life and dedicated to the progress of the nation and the welfare of the world.
