HEAVY RAINS LASH PARTS OF GUJARAT, TO REDUCE NOW

In the last twenty-four hours, the Indian state of Gujarat has been hit by a number of intense rainstorms, notably in the regions of Saurashtra and South Gujarat. Rainfall totals in the previous 24 hours, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, were as follows: 129 millimetres in Amreli; 85 millimetres in Surat; 82 millimetres in Rajkot; 78 millimetres in Veraval; 56 millimetres in Mahuva; and 33 millimetres in Porbandar.

These rains have been widespread as a result of the low pressure system, the outer extremities of which are now spreading up till Gujarat. The low pressure system will travel towards the areas of Uttar Pradesh, which will result in a decrease in the amount of rain that falls.

However, light showers will continue as a Cyclonic Circulation will build up over Northeast Arabian Sea and the surrounding Pakistan area. Because of this, presently the rains will continue to be light, and the strong showers will take a backseat.

There is a chance that it could start raining again around September 22, since a system will begin to develop in the Bay around the 17th, and it will take some time for it to go inland. However, for the time being, the system requires close monitoring.
