Almost All Trucks Heading Towards Jammu Have Been Cleared, And Normal Traffic Has Been Restored On The National Highway: Div Com Kashmir

Srinagar, Sept 27: On Tuesday, the Divisional Commissioner for Kashmir, Pandurang K. Pole, said that practically all trucks heading into Jammu had been cleared, and that regular traffic had been resumed on the National Highway.

The administration of the division made a significant amount of efforts to ensure that all of the stranded trucks made their way towards Jammu.

According to the information provided by the Divisional Commissioner, more than 12,500 cars were transported to the Jammu side through the Mughal Road today, while more than 14,000 trucks used the National Highway 44 yesterday. In addition, he said that the National Highway is back to its usual traffic flow.

In the meanwhile, Pole said that the government is actively promoting horticulture via all available channels and argued that high density apple plantations are gaining ground.

During the course of the discussion, he revealed that over the course of the previous four years, more than 10,000 kanals of land had been used for high density Plantation.

In this respect, he said that 350 nurseries that have the potential to cultivate ten lacs of saplings annually have been registered in order to get a subsidy of fifty percent.

He went on to state that all of these tangible supporting efforts have resulted in a rise in apple output, and as a consequence, Kashmir is poised to shatter all records of production this year, which may reach 21 Lac Metric Ton.
